Lakeside Energy from Waste to consult on replacement facility
28th February 2019
Proposals to replace the existing Lakeside Energy from Waste (EfW) facility - and high temperature incinerator (HTI) - will be on display at two public consultation exhibitions on Wednesday 13 and Thursday, 14 March 2019.
Lakeside EfW – a joint venture between Grundon Waste Management and Viridor – announced earlier in the month that it is pursuing a like-for-like replacement at a new site, west of the Iver South Treatment Works and around 600 metres north west of its current location. The existing facilities need to be moved to accommodate the proposed new third runway at Heathrow Airport.
The public consultation exhibitions will give local people a chance to view the plans and give their feedback to the project team. These consultation events are completely separate from both the current Heathrow Aerospace consultation and the June Heathrow Expansion consultation.
Lakeside EfW Director Richard Skehens said: “We’re delighted to share our plans for a like-for-like replacement facility with local people and hear what they think about them. Since we first started operating our current facility, we’ve developed a strong relationship with the local community. We look forward to discussing our plans with them and encourage as many people as possible to attend one of our upcoming public consultation exhibitions.”
The consultation events below will be held at:
- 2.30pm – 8.30pm on Wednesday 13 March 2019 at Saint Thomas Church, Vicarage Way, Colnbrook, Slough SL3 0JY
- 2.30pm – 8.30pm on Thursday 14 March 2019 at Richings Sports Park, 34A Wellesley Avenue, Iver SL0 9BN
