Planning application for Lakeside Energy from Waste replacement validated

29th July 2019

A planning application for a like-for-like replacement of the Colnbrook Lakeside Energy from Waste (EfW) facility – and the High Temperature Incinerator (HTI) – has been validated by Slough Borough Council.

Colnbrook-based Lakeside EfW, a joint venture between Grundon Waste Management and Viridor, submitted the planning application in June 2019. The existing facilities need to be removed to accommodate the land required for the proposed expansion at Heathrow.

Slough Borough Council will now carry out its own statutory consultation. Application documents are available on Slough Borough Council’s website using the reference P/17826/000. Details of how to take part in this consultation can be found on Slough Borough Council’s website.

LKS EfW Director Richard Skehens said:

“This is a significant milestone in our proposals for a like-for-like replacement of the existing Lakeside facilities. We’re grateful to everyone who has helped us reach this point and look forward to working with Slough Borough Council as the planning application progresses through the planning system”.
